Graham suffered ill health in later years. He was a heavy smoker all his adult life, and following his divorce he started to drink increasingly heavily. Both of these addictions together with his selfless devotion to nursing his mother at the detriment to his own health, were undoubtedly the cause of his passing at the relatively young age (pictured here shortly before his death).

In his later years he continued to play in a band called Arrivals with cousin Terry Aldridge, Andy Smith and Roger Bailey. Apparently, he was known to feature a very popular bawdy protest song to great audience acclaim, during this period - pictured singing this in "Later Years images".

Graham continued to write songs throughout the 80's and 90's using his instrument of choice - a  small acoustic guitar which can be heard on most of the tracks - a Pearl japanese made acoustic, which Marc Tuddenham sold to him  in 1974.  However, in the 70's Graham had befriended Rick Wakeman whilst doing some studio session work for Al Stewart, and Rick taught Graham to play the piano in return for drum tuition. On "now do you understand" ( Song 1 ) you can hear Graham playing piano very proficiently.
